This position is responsible for carrying out test development activities for Michigan's alternate assessment (MI-Access). This position also serves as a member of a team that ensures that the Michigan Item Bank System (IBS) contains sufficient numbers of accessible items for students with disabilities. This position works with the development team to develop and administer the pilot, field test, and operational assessments for students with disabilities using multiple testing modes. This position works closely with members of the Department, as well as, representatives from the content associations as assessments move from initial specifications to item writing, to pilot testing and then to full implementation. This position provides services by assisting schools and districts with interpreting and using their test results, constructing tests from blueprints, working with various content committees in the test development process, assist with test administration rules and documentation, write reports and make recommendations regarding testing to the Office Director for presentation to the Legislature, State Board of Education, the Department of Education and the public. The position provides guidance and technical support for state assessment and evaluation activities related to improving the achievement of students receiving special education services.
