The 2018 MI/AIR steering committee has been hard at work developing the Annual Conference. It will be held November 7-9, 2018 at the Great Hall Banquet & Convention Center in Midland. Mark your calendar to attend this always popular event and please consider presenting at this year’s conference!
Individuals working in Institutional Research are often asked to go above and beyond the call of duty. This may require joining committees that need a data scientist’s expertise, or producing accurate statistics at the drop of a hat. Often, Institutional Researchers are the unsung heroes behind the scene, keeping the information flowing and making the leaders look good. This year’s conference theme is Data and Information: Connections that are Out of This World.
Our conference will begin Wednesday afternoon, November 7th, with a pre-conference workshop for our membership. Thursday is a full-day of breakout sessions followed by a half-day of sessions on Friday. Specific details on the pre-conference workshop, breakout sessions and conference schedule will be made available prior to the conference.
In 2017 we had a jam-packed schedule with quality presentations, and we’d love to see the same for 2018! We welcome submissions on a variety of topics, including but not limited to topics related to this year's theme. This year’s proposal submission deadline is midnight, Friday, June 22nd. Those who submit a proposal will hear back from the committee by the end of July. We are pleased to announce that this year’s best paper will be eligible for a $500 Travel Grant ($250 from MI/AIR matched by $250 from AIR) to attend and present at the National AIR Conference.
